Popular Props in Halloween Costumes
Halloween is a great time for dressing up in fancy dresses and having a great time in general. When it comes to fancy dresses, some people love to take their time dressing up while others just want to get a new look and do it quickly. Regardless of how you like to dress without the right props your dress will always remain incomplete.
So what are the popular props that you can use during Halloween? Well some props are very specific to certain kinds of dresses while there are some that are quite common. Here are some that you can use to get yourself that special look during Halloween.
• Wigs: Wigs are probably the most common props that one can use. Wigs are basically styled hair that you can wear on top of your head and change your look completely. A good example of unique wig would be a Joker costume. If you want to look the Batman’s joker this Halloween, you would need green curly hair. Obviously you are not going to spoil your hair for that. A readymade wig is perfect for that.
Another popular wig is blond wigs. There are many dresses where the blond look makes it look more appealing and authentic. So a blond wig can be very useful in such cases.
• Shoes: Now no one would consider shoes to be props, as they are a part of any costume. However, there are many costumes that come just with the dress material and nothing else. In such cases you would need to get yourself the right shoes to go with the dress. This is where good shoes become important. Knee high shoes would be one of the most common shoe props that you would need to get for yourself.
• Weapons: these are again a very popular prop that goes well with most Halloween dresses. In most dresses the concept is typically a cartoon character or a mythological character or some popular figure from a recent movie. And usually these characters would have some kind of a weapon. So have guns, others have swords, and some others may have axes. Whatever the weapon, without these weapons your look is not really complete.
• Head Covers: There are many fancy dresses where you could use some kind of a dress for your head. It could be something as simple as a cap or a hat to something more elaborate like a crown. Many other dresses especially for girls could have just a special hairband too. For example in a bunny costume a head band with two bunny ears is absolutely vital. Without that you would look odd but with it you can look very cute.
These are some of the most common categories of props that you would use with Halloween dresses. But besides these depending on the actual costume you could need specific props. Of course props are not a part of every Halloween dress too. There are dresses like say the Superman costume where the costume itself is quite well defined and you do not need a prop.
